| Hi everybody! This new topic is for us to write a review about whatever we want, that is, a book, a flick, a CD or a music download, a website, a game and so on. Let's share our experiences with other people and also advise people on what to see, read, visit, listen to or not. | |

| Title of the film: Autumn Sonata
A well-rated Swedish film made in 1978, AUTUMN SONATA - a personal drama - was directed by one of the world's most acclaimed film makers and Sweden's most honoured director: Ingmar Bergman. He worked together with Ingrid Bergman for the first and only time and with his wife Liv Ullmann, both of them Swedish, who had absolutely stunning performances as mother and daughter.
The film opens with Ingrid Bergman, who plays Charlotte, a famous concert pianist, arriving at her daughter's house. Liv Ullmann, who plays the role of Charlotte's daughter Eva and hasn't seen her mother in seven years, invites her mother to come for a prolonged visit. Also staying at the house is Eva's sister, Helena, who suffers from a degenerative disease, and with whom Charlotte is visibly uncomfortable. Although she feels very resentful, Eva does her best to please Charlotte at first. However, after an evening of drinks and memories, emotions run amok, and Eva accuses Charlotte of being responsible for her chronic depression and for her sister's disability. The tension between them comes to a climax when they both realise how much hatred they have always felt for each other.
There is much to be grateful for in Autumn Sonata, mainly due to the stars’ performances. Ingrid Bergman gives a superb display of a woman transforming herself into a concert pianist, and that earned her some of the most enthusiastic acclaims of her career. She received an Oscar nomination as Best Actress and won the same honour from the New York critics circle. She does steal the thunder but Liv Ullmann’s performance is absolutely fantastic and enormously contributes to making the film a masterpiece.
All in all, AUTUMN SONATA is a tremendously well-made film, despite neither the sound nor the picture being great. However, they are both perfectly adequate and I wholeheartedly recommend AUTUMN SONATA.

| Title of the book:Percy Jackson and the lightning thief This Rick Riordan book, wich was also turned into a film, is a great book if you want to pass the time and is the first one in five boks collection. It tells the story of Percy Jackson, a young boy that describes he is a demi-god, son of Poseidon and Sally Jackson, his human mother. When he describes he is "special", he goes to a camp, the Half-blood Camp, where he makes many friends, "special" like him, and learn a lot about the Olympus gods. At the same time, in Olympus, the gods are fighting because they think that Percy had stolen Zeus lightning. It is a real page turner, with adventures and emotions. I recommend. | |

| Title of the filme: Time to Kill
The aim of this review is to talk about the film "Time to Kill" whether it is good or not to watch it.
First I would like to mention the fact that this film is based on a true story and I really enjoy this kind of film, because makes it more realistic. It is the story about a black man who had her nine years old daughter raped by two white guys. The plot of this film turn around this.
Another point is that involves a lot of cultural events like the Ku Clucks Kan and also talks about the racism, mainly in the United States. So It is a good opportunity to know about other culture. The film is a blockbuster and is edge of your seat stuff and has great special effects.
Concluding, I would recommend "Time to Kill", because it is a good opportunity to get used to other culture and you would have a lot of fun watching it.

| Title of the book: The Da Vinci Code
Escaping from what you would first guess it is about, The Da Vinci Code is not only about paintings and works of art, but a book full of action, containing an incredibly intelligent plot. It surprises you in each and every chapter you start, and it is a real page turner. Everything happens in a very wide scenery across France, providing the reader with interesting things about this country, and especially about Paris. The other Dan Brown's novels, such as Angels and Demons or Digital Fortress are also excellent, but this one in particular I like very much.
The only problem I can point out is that the jargons are often difficult to understand, unless you are an especialist in the subject. But in the end you can handle it easily, and have the opportunity of spending a good time reading a fascinating story.
Overall it is a perfectly well-written book by a real professional and I definitely recommend it.
